Edith (Edie) Harvey

My name is Edith Harvey (Eee - dith Har - vee), but I also go by Edie (Eee - dee) most of the time.

I have lived in the wonderful state of Michigan my entire life, but I have travelled to many states in the USA over the years. My favorite areas are in Northern Michigan's Lower Peninsula, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and the Sevierville Tennessee area. I love searching out places that have naturally made waterfalls and cooler temperatures in the summer. Yes, I have swam in Lake Superior many times. Brrr ... Brisk, but refreshing.

Although I was always learning something through reading and practice, I did not formally finish any degrees until the early 2020's after returning to college right before the co-vid pandemic hit in 2020. Since then I have completed associate degrees in Accounting and IT: Web Programming from Macomb Community College and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree from Oakland University. During that time I realized that I could become a teacher at the college level by teaching IT and Web Programming classes. Web Programming has been an enjoyable part of my life since the late 1990's. I had always wanted to be a teacher, albeit a High School Mathematics teacher originally, and I was so happy that I could share my Web programming knowledge with others now.

This site will document the special certifications, professional development, training, degrees, website showcases, and more that I've associated with achieving these goals and continuing forward to learn and grow as an educator. I don't think that anyone can ever know enough about a topic, especially technology. Many of the technology fields are constantly changing, and there is a need to learn more and adjust courses as needed.
